Cashvelope suits you if you liked Mint's categories and budgets, you're fine logging purchases yourself, and you'd rather not give any app your bank login — or your bank connections kept breaking anyway.

Look for an app with bank sync if automatic import was the whole reason you used Mint, you have many accounts and cards, and you won't log by hand. Manual tracking only works if you actually do it.

How to import your Mint history into Cashvelope

1. Find your Mint export — usually a file named transactions.csv.
2. In Cashvelope, open Settings → Spreadsheet data → Import from spreadsheet and pick the file.
3. Cashvelope matches Date, Amount, Category and Account Name automatically. Mint's Transaction Type column (debit / credit) is used to set whether each row is spending or income.
4. Tap Adjust column mapping to use Mint's Description as the title and Notes as the note.
5. Under Duplicates, choose Skip similar rows if you've already added some of these transactions.
6. Check the sample row, then import. Mint categories that don't exist yet are created for you.

After the import, your old months show up in the report and calendar, so you keep the trend — and from here on, you log new spending yourself.
